Dinner @ Superbowl Gateway, Ever-loved DQ, Fully Booked (09/14/07)

Something to share :) This is fiance's serious addiction next to basketball. So with that, we had to make a room for his dvd collection when we redesigned the family room (used to be patio a.k.a. storage) in his house. I am so happy how this thing turned out. This used to be his storage for shoes, but since I requested that our shoes should be kept and not displayed, he then decided to think of something to maximize the space. Jp designed this dvd shelves. It's overlapping and you can move the front shelf side by side. And guess what? we tried to save by using the old materials of the shoe cabinet instead of buying another batch of woods to use for this.



I could've taken a photo of the old storage/shoe cabinet. This makeover is very successful. Very artistic my Jp :) Isa palang yan ha! We are still working on the other renovations. So happy!

I am really enjoying the stress of slowly building our home. Exag! mas excited pa ko sa pag-fix ng house than the wedding preps hehe :D Every weekend, we try to visit HOME stores and depots. Last weekend, we ended up running to this sale in OUR HOME (Vira Mall) than the shops and malls that we usually go to. It was really worth it.We just bought our new bed for our soon to be nest ;-) I will post home shopping updates/photos soon...

I am watching this with highschool friends on the 22nd :)

We had our annual Fungolf Tournament last August 20, 2007 at the Tagaytay Highlands Ineternational Golf Club. This is our company's annual treat to the bosses of our top clients. Our simple way of thanking them for their continuous patronage. I had to work even if the Philippine Government declaired that the 20th was a special non-working holiday. Part of my job as Business Development/ Marketing of our company is to handle events. Both stressful and fun.I get to go to places and meet different kinds of people from the industry. From staff to the big bosses. This actually is one privilege that I am both thankful & grateful of. I am truly thankful that I was given this kind of opportunity in my career life.

It was sad that I was not able to blog lately. I was never this busy. My wedding is in 4 months and I have so many things to work on. I am just so lucky that my fiance and in-laws are very helpful and so at least I really get some pretty good help from everyone. :)

For the last four weeks, my days were moving so fast. My weekends were never enough for the supposedly rest & quality time with my family (super bitin talaga!) and my weekdays were literally tiring. I was appointed for a number of new challenging tasks in the office- side by side with my usual events & marketing projects. And so i've been working my ass off everyday to survive. Apart from that, I have have some tutor sessions with my Kyle when I get home after work.. and to include,me as the daughter, ate, fiance, in law and friend...are duties to attend to as well...
There were days that I was already crying to Jp because I was getting really overwhelmed with work and responsibilities. I used to think that my friends who used to experience this were just being too emotional... I guess, at some point in your life you will really experience this feeling. TIRED. In exchange of good things that happen in your life... comes sacrifice of course. You get a god job, then you must work hard enough as well. :) The good part is I have so many things to smile about everyday. Happy thoughts... as I always call it.

For the wedding preps, me and fiance are almost 3/4 done. This is really fun and exciting! I can't get enough of the thought that we will be together as one soon. We can't wait to have our own family. Last two weekends, Jp & I went to check out some furnitures and things for our future crib. We went shopping for some home accessories. We bought new pillows for our newly constructed family room. Kyle has never been this excited . We designed a separate area where we transfered the tv, sound system, dvds and playstation. It was my idea to have a separate family room because I don't want Kyle and our future kids to have the tv & computers inside their rooms. Discipline lang ba :D I want them to have some real quiet time when they are inside their rooms already. I'll post the photo of the family room after the weekend. Jp designed this very maximized shelves for his collection of dvds. Kid's room is done. We're planning to start filling it up in the next few months. This is both exciting & stessful! I dont know kung pano ko hahakutin lahat ng things ko when we transfer to our new home.. struggle talaga! I am actually thinking of giving up some of my things. Anyways, I will be starting a new life na din naman.... :p

Gotta go! Incoming emails flooding my outlook already! More more stories when I post again hopefully tomorrow. I have a lot of worth-keeping events in my life that I feel I need to share.. So... Till then! Ciao! :)

'been wanting to blog about so many things but both time and workload aren't so cooperative...

so for today, i'll forget about my so-so rants & random thoughts...

Most of us are probably aware of this news already. I can't help but feel alarmed and get affected by this. Yes, its been hot-very,very hot. The northern part (La Union area) of the Philippines is already experiencing drought. No rain for the past 2 months when in fact it should be the raining already...

Honestly, I used to hate it when it rains, more when typhoon hits our country. For one, I get hassled commuting to work. I'm worried about my Kyle getting wet on his way to school and getting sick after... and so with my 2 brothers who commutes to school also. I get worried for my Jp also, i'm worried about heavy downfalls when he's driving because he works at night which is already risky as it is..

Now, I am worried because it hasn't rained hard yet.. electricity fluctuating, water shortage, people from the provinces threatened because they depend on their farms for their living.

What is happening?

Let's try to conserve water in our little means...

I always wanted to run and jog but my strength is not that cooperative. I palpitate and have a hard time breathing and so I end up just walking. I want to be healthy and lose weight but nonetheless I easily get tired. I end up getting turned-off. So I settled with my relaxing walks inside Ateneo campus.

I was surfing the net when I came across this site for a Running Plan. It is specifically designed to help beginners get used to running. I am quite excited to try it and I hope this will work better so I will be more strong and be able to run religiously.

This is a 9-weeks program that I have to do three times a week. No more, no less. The program is interesting as it doesn't require you push yourself too much. You just have to be consistent and be motivated enough.Oh I forgot! Discipline is much needed I guess. I plan to start the program next week. I'm crossing my fingers xx.

These books of Bo Sanchez is my constant companion. I love reading them. I gain strength and wisdom reading his journal. The approach of Brother Bo is very inspiring... very humorous. You will even be surprised that sometimes a specific post is very related to what is currently happening in your life.

I started collecting his books 3 years back. I used to buy kerygma magazines then eventually his books. The books costs P300-P400 but the value is worth your life already. The texts inspires you to be more closer to God and feel his unconditional love.

I am a big fan of stilletos, mules and high- heeled sandals.. well, basically because it really does looks sexy and fashionable right? :D Until I landed on a sales/marketing job that required me to go out most often than not. That would me walking when visiting clients and attending meetings. For the first couple of months, I tried to tolerate even if my soles would then swell which is actually bad because my feet began look dry at times already (yuck!). Not to mention the threat of varicose veins. Bad.

I then resorted to wearing flats. I was initially weary and uncomfortable because I feel so short. (hehe, fyi my fiance is about 6'2" .. so I used to feel so short for him when wearing plain flats).

I found these really nice and cute flats last December when I went to Karl Edwards Bazaar. I am a self-confessed bargain hunter and tiangge freak! Aside from the challenge of getting the lowest bargain, I just enjoy looking around for unique and cute finds. I am amazed to see locally made trinkets also.

The back & white patent flats on the left are what I usually use everyday when I go to work. Very classic and it sure fits my corporate get-up. The beaded gold flats is what I usually wear on weekends or on a dress-down Friday @ work. These are my first ever ballet flats which I bought about 3 years ago in a tiangge selling items from India. Nice no? I can wear it without any accessories :) The bronze ballet flats with a ribbon is cute but I seldom use it.No reason. I juts don't feel like using it. The last two above (green/zebra) are my favorites. Very chick! I usually wear it with jeans and plain top. Cute!

These are juts cheap buys! Promise! :) No more than 400 except for the gold ballet flats.

We went to Caylabne Bay Resort in Ternate, Cavite for our post-summer company outing. The place is about 2 hours away from Manila. Not bad for a nearby getaway. I was a bit weary if the resort was good enough to satisfy our employees' expectations but I figured we can do away with it. I prepared games for everyone to enjoy and I made sure that the resort food was good. Being a food-lover myself, I am more concerned about the resort more than the beach :D

The resort is a very private getaway I must say. It is very secluded and when I said that, I meant it literally. The place is not accessible to public vehicles. The buses and other public vehicles coming from Manila are only until Ternate town proper which is still about 30-40 minutes away from the resort. I was curious enough so I asked the guard from the entrance if trikes can get in from the town proper but it will cost you 300-400 pesos to hire a trike to bring you in. Expensive but fair enough, the trikes won't have passengers on their way back to the town proper.

The road going to the resort is very complicated. My officemate said that it was worse when she went there 3 years ago. At least now, the roads were cemented for the convenience of their guests. The security is very tight because you will have to go through two stops before finally entering the resort proper. Our things were checked because guests are not allowed to bring in food nor beverage. Funny that when I read our entry slip, the bananas that I brought for the games were specified on the list. That was when I assumed that the resort food were expensive.


The rooms were big but not ok. It is suite type meaning there's a sala and a kitchen that weren't very useful since guests are not allowed to bring in food. So rule is, you have to go to El Patio (clubhouse near the beach) when you feel like eating. The good part is, even if teh rooms were old and outdated, they were clean enough. I didn't catch anyone sneezing :P No cockroach, no insects, no creepy whatsoever.

The service & assistance of the staffs were good. One staff welcomed our group with juice drinks and shell necklaces ( <-- im wearing them in my photos :D )




The food served to us was excellent except for the dessert. Buffet meals were already included in our package and surprisingly the food were more than enough for everyone. In short, "di nila kami tinipid". Sorry friends, I have no photos of the food. Its either I was recharging my cam battery or I was busy eating the crabs!:D


We played games on the first day. Everyone enjoyed the obstacle course, sack race, tug of war and kayak race. (view more photos @ regenttravel.multiply.com) I prepared simple tokens for the winners. Well thought of. I got them sports tumblers, coffee mugs, towels, small pillows.

Overall, it was worth the trip & experience. And I can even recommend it to friends and families who want to go on a quick getaway from the city stress. (http://caylabne.com.ph)

Oh by the way, there's hardly a mobile signal inside.You have to go near the beach area to be able to catch one :D

There you go... my future family. This is one of the many reasons why I am excited about getting married. Having my own family, raising my own kids and taking care of Jp, my future husband inspires me a lot & it makes me feel really worthy. no summer

I didn't exactly felt much of the summer bliss this year. For one thing, I work in a company that arranges summer getaways for other people, so that definitely meant - I can't go on leave myself :( Unlike my other friends, I have no Boracay, no Bohol, no Ilocos photos this year...
I do away and make the most of my weekly events with family. It's definitely fun and this year, I must say that I am really embracing every moment that I get to spend with my family and my fiance's clan as well. I am able to spend a good amount of quality time with each and everyone especially my mama who is beginning to love our walks at ateneo, BREADTALK date, and travel plans these past few weeks.

This weekend, we ( my family, jp & his mom) will go up to the Cuna's resthouse in Tagaytay. We will laze around & relax on Saturday and on Sunday we will spend the day at Villa Escudero. Not quite fun for friends my age but I am definitely loving this quality time with family. I guess I am really getting old :S I'm excited for this road trip. For one thing this is the first time that we will be going out of town together. My OM said the seafood buffet in Villa Escudero is worth a try and I am taking her word for it :)


Kyle's class will start June 5. I am not sure though if he is that excited. I know the kid is very well enjoying the summer vaca and I sensed a little disappointment from him when I told him that summer vacation will be over in two weeks. I bought his school uniform & supplies last week. I am almost done with my checklist. His trolley school bag & school shoes are the only ones left on the list. I am buying them next payday... operation budget :D

Another post-summer activity... I'm working on the office's company outing. Target date is end of June or first week of July. Options : 1)Caylabne Bay 2) Montemar 3) Golden Sunset.

Attended management meeting the whole afternoon of yesterday. Looks like my boss is really loving me... More more work for me this year and my planner is already booked till August next year :D Tsk, I still have to work on my wedding preps boss! Office work is challenging, tiring, & exhausting... but ironically, I am loving it!
